History of Northwest Shudokan

The Wise Old Man

In a village in Okinawa, there was a wise old man.  One day there was an argument between two of the village people.  Finally, they agreed to have the wisest man in the village decide who was right.  As the first man entered the house, he noticed the wise man's wife in the kitchen cooking dinner.  The man explained why he thought he was right to the wise man.  After he was done, the wise man, thought for a moment and said "you are absolutely right, one hundred percent right"  and with that, the man left the house with a smile on his face.  The second man entered the house and told his side of the story to the wise old man.  The wise man thought for a while and said "you are absolutely right, one hundred percent right" and then the second man left the house with a big smile on his face.  The wise old man's wife had been listening the whole time.  She turned to her husband and said, "you old fool, they both can't be one hundred percent right"  The old man thought for second and said "you are absolutely right, one hundred percent right".   The moral, being right is sometimes in the eye of the beholder.
